The short version. This calculator gives you an estimate based on the numbers you type in and Etsy's published fee rates. It's a useful guide, not a substitute for your actual Etsy statements or advice from an accountant. Use it freely; check anything important against your real figures.

What the calculator is for
Handmade Margin is a free estimator for a single Etsy sale. It uses the figures you enter and Etsy's published fee information to show an indicative margin and price target. It is independent of Etsy; “Etsy” is a trademark of Etsy, Inc.
What the estimate does not cover
- Etsy can change fees, and rates can vary by shop and buyer location.
- Taxes, currency conversion, refunds, chargebacks, subscriptions and self-funded advertising are outside this calculator.
- Your Etsy payment account and statements are the authority when they differ from this tool.
Use the result as a prompt to check your pricing, not as financial, tax, accounting or legal advice. Decisions about your business remain yours.
Using the site fairly
You may use the calculator for your own business, free of charge. Please do not:
- interfere with, overload or try to access the site or its systems without permission;
- use automated tools to submit the email-updates form; or
- republish the site's design, code or written content as your own.
Availability and responsibility
We may change, suspend or discontinue the free tool. To the extent the law allows, we are not responsible for loss caused by relying on an estimate. Check important figures against your own records and seek professional advice where appropriate.

Your legal rights remain. Nothing in these terms excludes rights or guarantees that the law says cannot be excluded, including rights under the Australian Consumer Law where it applies.
Privacy
Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle the small amount of information needed for email updates, optional first-party site measurement and affiliate-link reporting. The Cookie Policy explains the essential cookie that records your privacy choice, as well as what happens if you choose to follow an external affiliate link.
